Industrial processes place high demands on measurement technology. Extreme environmental conditions, aggressive media, chemically intensive cleaning and the need for accurate, fail-safe data are all on the agenda. Conventional sensors quickly reach their limits here - for example due to condensation, corrosion, temperature extremes or labor-intensive maintenance. The HTS401 was developed precisely for these applications and combines a robust protection concept with high measurement accuracy, simple system integration and a maintenance concept that minimizes process interruptions.

To ensure that the sensor remains operational even under extreme stress, the HTS401 combines the proprietary E+E sensor coating with the Condensation Guard, a heatable sensor unit that actively counteracts condensation on the sensor. As soon as the ambient conditions indicate a risk of condensation, the sensor temperature is automatically raised slightly. This prevents the build-up of moisture on the sensor surface and the output signal remains stable. Supplemented by the automatic recovery function (ARC), the sensor element actively protects itself against harmful chemical influences. This reduces corrosion-related failures and measured value drifts, extends the service life and minimizes maintenance interventions - especially in applications with high humidity and with regular automatic cleaning or sterilization.

Maintenance without process interruption - quick calibration by replacing modules

With its integrated rapidX technology, the HTS401 also simplifies maintenance and calibration: the sensor module can be replaced in the field without tools in just 10 minutes, including filter replacement and access preparation. There is no need for on-site calibration, as each rapidX sensor module is pre-calibrated and supplied with a digital acceptance test certificate in accordance with DIN EN 10204-3.1.

High accuracy for stable control

with a measurement accuracy of up to ±0.95 % RH and ±0.1 °C and an operating range of -40 °C to +80 °C, the HTS401 delivers reliable values from outdoor areas to controlled environments such as clean rooms. For additional flexibility in the application, the HTS401 also calculates important variables derived from the relative humidity, such as dew point, mixing ratio or enthalpy, directly in the device.

Simple system integration and flexible designs

The HTS401 supports digital and analog interfaces and can be configured using the E+E PCS10 software. This allows the sensor to be quickly integrated into existing automation and building management systems. Wall-mounted and duct versions are available, as well as variants with a remote sensor; an optional display is available to visualize several measured variables simultaneously.

The HTS401 is optimized for a wide range of applications, including high-end HVAC (e.g. data centers, swimming pools, outdoor applications), agriculture (greenhouses, barns, storage and ripening), pharmaceutical applications (clean room monitoring) and food and beverage processes such as meat and cheese ripening.

The HTS401 stands for precise, fail-safe humidity and temperature measurement with minimal maintenance. As the successor to the EE212 and EE210, it helps operators to control processes in a stable manner, use energy more efficiently and make service calls easier to plan.
